Crackhead boyfriend kills computer analyst girlfriend, goes back to sleep
Leslie Beech, 39, was upset with his live-in girlfriend, 56, who asked him not to smoke crack in their Brooklyn home. He apparently responded by killing her, and then doing nothing.
When she didn't show up for work, cops went to her door, only to find Beech still there, sleeping. "The only thing I heard him say was, 'I don't know why you are all waking me up out of my sleep,'" said a neighbor. "Like they were bothering him."
Those who knew the pair said they were an odd couple. A computer analyst for a bank, she met him, an ex-con, after he got out of prison last year. He has a long record of arrests on fairly serious charges; she was vice-chair of the building's co-op board.
