Time Warner Blows

Chunk of metal from Time Warner Center clips Harlem man

"A Harlem man cheated death yesterday when a 22-inch piece of metal blew off the troubled Time Warner Center, grazing his arm before crashing onto the sidewalk."

Finally, a story that puts the scary stuff up front. Compare this to what The Post had to say:

"Streets around Columbus Circle were closed yesterday afternoon when high winds blew insulation, sheet metal and steel molding off the mammoth AOL Time Warner Center."

Come on, Post. We expect more from you.

As you know, this is not the first time debris has flown off the building.

"A construction worker at the building was critically injured when a wooden board slammed into his head Sept. 11, 2002, and high winds later tore a sheet of plywood from the building. A spectacular blaze erupted last April and the opening of the snazzy Per Se restaurant was delayed by a kitchen fire in February."

As one guy put it, "Weird things happen there."
