That Was Fast

Fast collar in brutal Harlem rob

"Two thugs who menaced a Harlem family at gunpoint for 45 minutes in search of cash were nabbed within an hour by cops on routine traffic patrol, police said yesterday."

Not bad. These guys knocked on a door and:

"Iris Rodriguez, 20, said she opened the door of her dad's apartment to find herself staring down the barrel of a silver 9-mm. handgun."

Makes you think twice about opening your door. The two men spent nearly an hour in the apt looking for cash.

"Less than an hour later, Manhattan North Task Force cops pulled over a white Ford Taurus on 125th St. occupied by Bienvenido Reyes, 47, of the Bronx, and George Capella, 24, of Philadelphia, for an unspecified traffic infraction, cops said. Sgt. Gregory Pekera saw a bloody 9-mm. handgun in the car and quickly made the connection to the recent robbery, police said."

Wonder where they saw it.

"After talking with detectives yesterday morning, Rodriguez realized that Reyes is the boyfriend of her father's sister."

Huh? Wha?

"Reyes and Capella told cops that they went to the apartment because Victor Rodriguez owed them money, a law enforcement source said."
