Cellphones Underground

THE TRACKS OF OUR FEARS

"In the wake of the commuter train bombings in Madrid that claimed 202 lives, the NYPD has mounted an unprecedented security effort in the city's subway system in the hopes of thwarting a massive terror attack here."

Just something to think about. More bombs are being detonated with cellphones these days. Do you think the large percentage of underground trains in the NYC system could prevent an attack of that sort?

Update: this story mentions that they're checking every car of a train before it enters a tunnel. Ahem - not so sure about that. At 59th and Lex this evening, the doors were open for all of 5 seconds. No one got on/off.
