Gothamist: Woman Killed By Subway
"Yesterday afternoon, a 19 year-old woman was killed by an oncoming V train when she climbed down to pick up her cellphone on the subway tracks."

Read the comments on the post over there. Some interesting stuff about what to do if you drop something on the tracks, or worse, you find yourself on the tracks for whatever reason.
Listen, folks. I know some things are really important, like a cellphone, your hat, your bag, whatever. But let me tell you something. Unless you work for the MTA, you have NO business going on the tracks. None at all. If you drop something, tell someone. It really is as simple as that.
