Look for Good Samaritan, Ignore Pusher
"A Manhattan woman shoved onto subway tracks by a deranged homeless man is desperately searching for the anonymous hero who pulled her to safety seconds before a train roared into the station."
This happened at the "southbound N and R platform at 59th St. and Lexington Ave." Now those of you who spend a lot of time in that station (like me) know there's no such thing as the "southbound N and R platform at 59th St. and Lexington Ave" station. It's one platform for both Manhattan and Queens-bound trains. It's one of the most crowded and cramped stations in the system. But anyway...
"She's hoping the mystery man - described as black, 5-feet-9, wearing a blue ski jacket - will come forward now so she can tell him how grateful she is."
I have problem with this. Wanting to track down this man to thank him is good. No doubt. But what the Daily News failed to do is give a description of the pusher. "But the homeless man got on a train and fled before officers arrived." So in addition to a good samaritan walking the streets, there's a freaking train pusher walking around and no one knows what he looks like.
