Sailors saved by NYPD

Sailors saved by NYPD

"Four Navy sailors took part in a dramatic rescue at sea last night - except they were the ones being saved.

"An NYPD helicopter flew into freezing winds to pluck the four men from two Navy patrol boats that got stuck in chunks of ice in Sandy Hook Bay off New Jersey, police said."

Um, ok, I guess. 1) Shouldn't the Navy know a thing or two about sailing in icy water? 2) Why did the NYPD have to save them? Doesn't the Navy have the means to do that? 3) Am I just a big complainer/grump? Discuss.
