"A Queens woman was awakened from her sleep, tied up and brutally raped by a man who broke into her home while two other men ransacked the house as her young son slept, police said Thursday."
Jesus... this kind of stuff really does happen.

While I agree that this is probably happening (people staying in their homes more, rather than going out and spending time with other members of the community), I don't think that has anything to do with this. I doubt these three men were from the 'hood. That said, maybe someone could've recognized an unfamiliar car or something. I don't know.
