New Yorkers Remain Cool

"As police deployed security teams around landmark locations and transit hubs in a heightened 'Code Orange' response on Monday, many New Yorkers were paying attention to their own threat level: With just days before Christmas, the time for shopping was growing short."

Yada yada... the story goes on:

"And Vincent Favorito, a Brooklyn homeowner more concerned with his recently stolen Christmas decorations, said raising the terror alert wasn't even helpful if there weren't concrete actions for people to take.

"'It's aggravation, it doesn't do anything except make people nervous,' he said. 'What am I supposed to do? They don't tell me. Yellow alert, orange alert, even if it was two red alerts -- I still don't know what I'm supposed to do about it.'"
