Memo to Howard Dean "Kudos

Memo to Howard Dean

"Kudos to the NYPD for a clever bit of police work that not only nabbed a subway vandal, but also sent a necessary message to one of the clueless Democrats running for president."

The New York Post being the New York Post. They're patting cops on the back for catching the graffiti artist the Dean campaign used to produce backdrops for his Bryant Park rally a few months ago, while criticizing Dean for glorifying graffiti in the first place.

"Proving that Dean & Co. still don't get it, a campaign spokesman dismissed the criticism, saying anyone who condemned such vandalism doesn't "know what's going on in urban America" and praised graffiti as 'creative and constructive.'"

Proof that graffiti, when welcomed and encouraged, is indeed "creative and constructive" can be found right here in Queens. "The Phun Phactory (PPAAC) was created to channel the energies and artistic talent of aerosol artists into creative constructive works of art." Say, they used the same words. If you're ever on the 7 train, take a look right before Courthouse Square. The place is great.
