City's driving toward a safety
City's driving toward a safety benchmark
Good news! You're less likely to get hit by a car and die on New York City streets.
"As of early October, there were 254 traffic fatalities in the city since Jan. 1, down nearly 10% from the same period last year."
This whole story is full of quotes from city officials that essentially sound as if they're saying, "we're please to see that less people are dying." It's weird, as if 254 is an acceptable number.
