What's That? "A growing number
"A growing number of New Yorkers are suffering permanent hearing loss, according to a report in Crain's New York Business."
As it turns out, this may not be a case of more people losing their hearing.
"He (Marc Kramer) attributes the increase in hearing loss to greater awareness, which in turn leads to earlier detection."
Makes sense. The city's always been loud with our garbage trucks, trains, car horns, helicopters, neighbors' music, etc. People are just going to the doctor and complaining about it more.
